Giants Software has released Update 1.6.0.1 for Project Motor Racing, bringing significant changes to the GT3 class and improving other facets of the simulator at the same time.
The biggest focus of Project Motor Racing Update 1.6.0.1 is the GT3 class. The tyre model has been updated, making the slip and grip angles and behavior more realistic than before. Additionally, the Tracion Control (TC) and Antilock Braking System (ABS) logic has been reworked with a focus on improving the balance and handling of the GT3 class.
The Force Feedback strength was also balanced for the GT3 class.
A more in-depth explanation for these changes can be found here from Giants Software. Anyone who has a GT3 class setup will more than likely need to adjust it to fit the revised systems.

While the GT3 class changes were the highlight of Update 1.6.0.1, there were several other improvements.
The LMDh also had several changes, including a TC rework and improved downshift protection behavior. The GTO also had TC changes that give users more freedom. Group 5 and Group C were also on the receiving end of TC adjustments, and they also now have better clutch slip on downshifts.
In general, Project Motor Racing has a better throttle response system now, along with a better logic for downshifting that gives players more freedom for over-revving. Tire pre-heating temperatures have been lowered across all classes, too.
A few other changes can be found below:
- Logitech TrueForce is disabled by default for PC users
- Force Feedback improvements were made, specifically on wet tracks
- Improved the navigation and readability of the player stats menu
- Increased grid capacity at São Paulo
- Improved some driver animations

The entire patch notes can be found here, which includes the bugs that were fixed as well.
Project Motor Racing Update 1.6.0.1 is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. For more news on the racing simulator, check out the previous Update 1.5.0.5 and the short-term roadmap released late last year.
