Aerosoft has revealed Professional Ship Simulator, a deep maritime simulator with realistic ship handling and operations.
Professional Ship Simulator was known as Nautic XP before, with demos available as recently as last week under that name. Now, the simulator is getting a new title and a new gameplay trailer to go with it as it recommits to being an authentic and complex simulator.
Professional Ship Simulator is made for simulation enthusiasts with its authentic systems and real-world navigation problems. It has an advanced hydrodynamic simulation model, incorporating factors like wind, waves, bank effects, currents, and propulsion forces (like propeller torque). Players will have to manage the ship with all of these things in mind, whether they’re on open waters or in a chaotic harbor.
There are over 100 mappable buttons in the fully-interactive cockpit, along with several control axles and simulated systems like radar (with AIX/CPA tracking), sonar, radio, and power management.
Players will have a variety of maritime vehicles to choose from, including a tugboat, fishing trawler, rescue ship, and large-scale commercial vessels, like a container ship, bulk carrier, LNG tanker, and a cruise ship.
Professional Ship Simulator will include sandbox content and missions that players can take on, such as transporting cargo, towing operations, rescue missions, and more.
Professional Ship Simulator is set to release in Early Access in 2026 on PC. There are plans for modding in the Early Access roadmap, giving players the option to create their own harbors, ships, and scenarios.
