The Esports World Cup has announced that Post Malone will headline the Opening Ceremony at the 2025 event.
Post Malone is an American musician who blends genres like pop, rock, country, and hip-hop. He’s no stranger to the gaming scene — he’s streamed on Twitch in the past. He was also part of the Pokémon 25 celebration in 2021, hosting a virtual concert and appearing on the Pokémon 25: The Album with his own track.
Malone also co-owns OpTic Gaming, and he’s worked on several in-game events with various games, including Apex Legends.
He’s also a fan of Magic: The Gathering, buying the infamous One Ring MTG card a few years back and showing up several times on the popular MTG channel, The Command Zone.
The Esports World Cup 2025 Opening Ceremony, and the performance headlining Post Malone, will be held on July 10.
Mike McCabe, the Chief Operating Officer of the Esports World Cup Foundation, shared his thoughts on Post Malone’s role in the event:
“Esports is becoming a global cultural force – where music, storytelling, and competition converge to create moments that are not just seen, but felt. With Post Malone opening the tournament, we’re creating our own sound, our own identity – a universal language that brings fans together and defines the cultural future of esports.”
