Pompeii: The Legacy Early Access Release Delayed

Siscia Games has announced that the Early Access release date for Pompeii: The Legacy has been delayed, though it’s only by one week.

The call to delay the game is because of the demo for Anno 117: Pax Romana. The Anno franchise from Ubisoft is a major city-building sim series, and the demo for the next game ends on September 16. This is the same day that Pompeii: The Legacy was first set to release in Early Access.

As one of the most popular upcoming games in the genre, Anno 117: Pax Romana will be a hot topic during its demo. This doesn’t give Pompeii: The Legacy much room to shine in the community.

Siscia Games explained that it wants players not only to be able to focus on Pompeii: The Legacy, but also to enjoy their limited time with Anno 117: Pax Romana. So, to give each game its own space, it decided to push back the Early Access release date for Anno 117: Pax Romana.

The studio also explained that it doesn’t change much — Pompeii: The Legacy is still almost ready, and the extra week just gives the developer a bit more time to polish the Early Access build.

The first build of the Early Access version of Pompeii: The Legacy will include rebuilding the city after Mount Vesuvius’ eruption, managing generational politics and families, production chains, and story content.

Players will be able to hop into Pompeii: The Legacy for the first time on September 23, 2025, on PC. Players can learn more about the upcoming game’s features, including its narrative city-building aspect and the production chains, in the meantime. Additionally, a new view of the Pompeii Arena from inside the game was revealed alongside the news:
