The Pokémon Company has revealed the next expansion coming to Pokémon TCG Pocket, Ruler of the Skies, along with details about upcoming events for the mobile game and more.
The Ruler of the Skies expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket centers around Mega Rayquaza ex, who will be coming to the game for the first time with the expansion. Some of the other Pokémon featured include the following:
- Mega Metagross ex
- Mega Gallade ex
- Swanna ex
- Pysduck
- Absol
- Genesect
- Dragonair
Ruler of the Skies is coming alongside several updates to Pokémon TCG Pocket, too. Once the update with the expansion launches, players will be able to share their decks with 2D pattern QR codes. Additionally, if a player pulls a card that’s in multiple sets, the Card Dex will automatically fill it in for every set the card is a part of, which will also happen retroactively for cards already obtained.
There are also two new additions coming with the next update: A new four diamond or higher guaranteed booster pack category and Welcome Back Missions.
The new booster packs are exactly what they sound like, and there are certain conditions players will need to meet to unlock them. While details on this aren’t clear yet, they will be specific to each booster pack expansion.
Returning players will also receive various Welcome Back Missions, which will reward a total of 120 pack hourglasses once completed.
The Ruler of the Skies expansion will have several different events through the next few months, including the following:
- Elite Deck Gift Missions (late July to late October)
- Handy Card Collection Missions (late July to late October)
- Summer Event Missions (late July to early August)
- Ruler of the Skies Emblem Event (early August to mid August)
- Community Week (early August to mid August)
- Mega Houndoom ex Drop Event (mid August to late August)
- Wonder Pick Event (mid August to late August)
- Deluxe Pack: ex Booster Packs Return (mid August to late August)
