The Pokémon franchise is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and The Pokémon Company has announced a Pokémon Presents to celebrate, which will take place on February 27, 2026. At the same time, it announced that Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version will be coming to the Nintendo Switch following the presentation.
February 27 is lovingly dubbed Pokémon Day, so it’s normal to have a Pokémon Presents on the day itself. Fans can look forward to news about the franchise as a whole, whether it’s about the TCG and competitions or about the live-service games like Pokémon TCG Pocket and Pokémon Unite.
There’s quite a bit of mystery surrounding Pokémon right now. Pokémon fans are currently expecting Pokémon Pokopia next month, and there’s also Pokémon Champions, the upcoming mobile multiplayer battle-focused title. However, what there’s no current news on is the next generation of the main games or any remakes, so those could show up as well.
What we do know is that The Pokémon Company is releasing Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version digitally on the Nintendo eShop immediately following the end of the Pokémon Presents. These two titles are the 2004 remakes of the 1996 Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green video games (though Western fans may remember Pokémon Blue instead of Pokémon Green, which was only available in Japan).

The Pokémon Presents on February 27, 2026, will begin at 6 am PST/2 pm GMT/3 pm CET, and fans can tune in on either the official Pokémon YouTube or Pokémon Twitch channels.
