PlayStation State of Play September 2024 – Here Are All the News and Reveals

Sony Interactive Entertainment just hosted its “State of Play” broadcast focusing on games coming to PS5 and PlayStation VR (and plenty other platforms for some) down the line.

This specific State of Play hosted in September has pretty much replaced Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference, which has not been hosted for several years, following the complete withdrawal of the house of PlayStation from press briefings.

Today’s broadcast started with a trailer of a free update coming to Team Asobi’s Astro Bot in Fall 2024.

Next is a game made with Claymation, The Midnight Walk by Moon Hood Studios, coming for PS5 and PlayStation VR 2 in spring 2025.

We then get to see the horror atmospheres of Hell is Us by Rogue Factor, coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2025.

Vertigo Games then presented Metro Awakening VR, coming to PlayStation VR 2 on November 17

XL Games and Kakao Games showcased the online action RPG Archeage Chronicles, coming in 2025 for PS5.

Palworld was finally announced officially for PS5 by PocketPair, and it’s coming… today. Sorry, Nintendo. You aren’t stopping this one.

Lunar Remastered Collection brings back Lunar Eternal Story Complete and Lunar 2 Eternal Blue Complete from the glorious times of the original PlayStation.

Next on the menu is the Radical Reptiles DLC for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, releasing today for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

Fantasian Neo Dimension by Hironbu Sakaguchi received a release date and it’s coming on December 5 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Next is an extended look at Dragon Age: The Veilguard, coming on October 31, 2024, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. 

Alan Wake 2 is getting an expansion titled The Lake House, and it’s coming in October.

We then take a look at Hitman: World of Assassination for PlayStation VR 2, coming in December.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 – 2 Remastered was next on the menu, with a release date on December 10.

Fear the Spotlight by Blumhouse Games has a release date and it’s coming on October 22, 2024, for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Towers of Aghasba is coming in early access to PS5 in November 2024.

Split Screen mode is coming to Lego Fortnite and a limited edition Fortnite DualSense controller has been announced.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins received a release date. It’s coming on January 17, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Capcom provided another look at Monster Hunter Wilds, and we got a release date. The game is coming in February 28, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Lego Horizon Adventures is coming for PS5 and PC on November 14, 2024. You can check out a trailer below.

Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PS5 and PC with Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. It’s coming to October 31, 2024, and those who own the original game can upgrade to the PS5 version for $9.99.

For fans of Stellar Blade, the photo mode has been revealed alongside a NieR: Automata DLC.

If you’re interested in PlayStation Plus, you’ll be glad to know that the lineup for October includes WWA 2K24, Doki Doki Literature Plus, and Dead Space. All will be available on October 1. Dead Space is the only one exclusive to PS5, while the other two will be on PS4 as well.

Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Dino Crisis will join the Classics library “soon,” while The Last of Us Part I will join the Game Catalog on September 26.

New colors for the DualSense controller and the PS5 covers have been revealed with the Chroma Collection.

Mark Cerny himself revealed a sizzle reel trailer of games enhanced for the upcoming PS5 Pro console.

Sony concluded the showcase with the successor to Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yotei, coming in 2025 to PS5.
