Nintendo has announced a new, free update coming to Pikmin 4, introducing a Photo Mode, new Creature Activity levels, and Decor Pikmin that can make their way to Pikmin Bloom.
The Photo Mode will let players take pictures wherever they are with a Field Camera. Players will be able to add stamps and frames to set the mood for each photo after it’s taken.
Some of the stickers that appear in the video include fun, expressive stamps and a calendar stamp so players can make their own Pikmin-themed digital calendar.
There are also two new Creature Activity levels, which are just difficulty choices. After the Pikmin 4 update, players will be able to choose Relaxed and Fierce (in addition to the Normal difficulty).
In Relaxed, creatures won’t attack until the player attacks them first, while also being easier to take down. This gives players a bit of time to prep and plan for more difficult fights while also exploring without the fear of being attacked out of the blue. This is also a good way to use the new Photo Mode around enemies.
Fierce does the total opposite, making the game more challenging.
Last but not least is the addition of Decor Pikmin. These adorable Pikmin are tangled up in items, such as a donut or a ladybug. They can be found throughout the world, and the game will give players hints about where to find them.
Once players find them, the goofy Pikmin will join the squad like normal. They can also join players in Pikmin Bloom, the AR Pikmin game on mobile devices. Decor Pikmin can already be found in Pikmin Bloom.
