Kinetic Games has officially laid out its 2025 and beyond roadmap for its hit ghost-hunting horror simulator, Phasmophobia. In the breakdown, the developers showcased everything from map reworks to seasonal events to brand-new maps, showing fans that there are still plenty of haunts to come.

The first major update that is coming to Phasophobia in 2025 is Chronicle, which was teased late last year as a part of the Development Preview #18. This update is set to remold the way players record evidence while playing, introducing different mechanics and rewards for Photos and Videos during investigations, which can be revisited in a new Media tab that is being added to the Journal.

Alongside this new Journal tab, Chronicle will introduce a few extras, including a Sound Recorder that will help in your investigations. The second major update planned for 2025 is the Player Character Overhaul.

Player Character Overhaul is set to refresh character models, improve animations, and adjust the overall experience when it comes to your Phasmophobia character. Full player customization is also being planned for an update at some point in 2026, which will give plenty of time to focus on the Horror 2.0 update and the new maps they’re set to introduce this year.

So far, Kinetic Games isn’t revealing too much about the next location that is being added, but they have stated it’ll be a small map, similar in size to houses, and that the setting is unlike anything they’ve ever released in the game so far. Map reworks are also being done for Bleasdale Farmhouse, Grafton Farmhouse, and 6 Tanglewood Drive, with the first one (Bleasdale) set to release in March 2025.

Last but not least, 2025 Seasonal Events will be similar to last year – with the addition of an Easter Event – but with some considerable tweaks following user feedback, as they’ll introduce a reward system and a rotating map pool to keep things fresh. As for beyond 2025’s roadmap, the developers stated they have plenty of content coming, including Horror 2.0, new maps, further reworks, and so much more.

Phasmophobia is currently available for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
