Aerosoft has released a major update for On the Road – The Truck Simulator today, bringing several major improvements to the sim’s graphics.
On the Road – The Truck Simulator was fully released back in 2019, and now it’s been updated to look better than ever.
Part of what was improved includes new weather effects. This includes puddles that reflect the environment around them.
Additionally, a redesigned day/night cycle means better-looking night drives. There are also new textures across the board, along with revamped points of interest in cities. These textures include both environmental changes and building textures in general.
Console players have a few additional changes, including the following:
- General draw distance and mirror viewing distance have been improved
- Save Slot options have been increased to three

This update was first revealed earlier this year, and Aerosoft has been consistently updating fans since with clips and comparisons.
Despite the years since its release, the sim has had several major updates. The last one was in early 2024, though the graphics update today shows that the developer isn’t done with the sim quite yet.
On the Road – The Truck Simulator is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
