Today, independent studio Play by Play Studios announced NBA The Run, a fast-paced, officially licensed 3v3 basketball game coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam on PC, with Cross Play enabled, in 2026.
NBA The Run will feature above-the-rim action and be packed full of NBA stars, posturizing moments, ankle-breaking tricks and a unique, signature street style. The game will have solo and squad play, allowing you and your friends to face off against the best of the best in Knockout Tournaments on legendary streetball courts.
When speaking on the title, Play by Play Studios Founder and CEO Scott Probst talked about how much the partnership means to the team:
“As fans of pretty much every basketball video game ever made, we have very big shoes to fill – and we don’t take that lightly. Our partnership with the NBA & NBPA takes us to a whole new level and we’re beyond excited about the collaboration and the potential of NBA THE RUN. We’re a small team, but we’re scrappy, focused and relentless about creating an all new smash hit. This game is for every hoops fan across the globe.”

Gameplay is fast, fluid, and responsive, using the true rollback netcode system to make sure online executes everything seamlessly. Your moves on the sticks will sync instantaneously, letting you cross up an aggressive defender, switch to a layup or mid-dunk, serve thunderous blocks, dive for loose balls, and pick up huge steals all with the flick of your thumbs.
Fans will also likely know the voice behind the action, as legendary DJ, author, and video game voice actor Bobbito Garcia lends his endless energy, enthusiasm, and original sazón to every call.
Rosters will include some of your favorite current NBA stars – Giannis Antetokounmpo, Lamelo Ball, Stephen Curry, Luka Dončić, Anthony Edwards, and Cooper Flagg – mixed in with a handful of fictional streetball legend, with courts spanning across the globe from Venice Beach to the Tenement in Taguig, Philippines.
