Today Anchor hosted its annual “Muv-Luv Presents livestream, providing fresh news about the beloved visual novel franchise.
The first, and extremely welcome, announcement is the upcoming release on Steam of Schwarzesmarken, the beautiful prequel to Muv-Luv Alternative set in East Germany in 1983.
It’ll include both parts, “Schwarzesmarken: Bloodstained Crest” and “Schwarzesmarken: The Martyrs,” and it’ll have translations in English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese on top of the original Japanese text.
A release date has not been announced, but it’s really coming, and it almost doesn’t feel real.
Considering how long the fans of the series have waited for a localization of Schwarzesmarken, I’m sure a chorus of joyous screams exploded when this was announced. I’m sure my neighbors in the hotel I’m sitting in right now heard me.
Next, we hear about Muv-Luv: Tactics Kalidasa at Nightmare, with the series’ creator Kouki Yoshimune explaining how it’s set in a completely different branch of the Muv-Luv timeline.
Incidentally, the protagonist Chisa Minato is voiced by Haruka Shiraishi, who already voiced Irma Thesleff in the Muv-Luv Alternative anime.
We get the introduction of Minato Sanza, Chisa’s father and former commander of her PMC. He’s already deceased at the time of the game’s story.
We learn about Chisa’s mothership, the Shoyoumaru, built on the hull of the decommissioned WW2 aircraft carrier Akagi.
Another reveal is the orbital drop form of the Umibato, alongside similarly equipped F-4 Phantom, F-15 Eagle, and Takemikazuchi.
We then get to see the Electrion (of course inspired by the Susano-o), and most of the details have been skipped.
Looking at the BETA, we get the release of the Proto Laser-Class, which is the creature the Laser Class evolved from after being bombarded by the Chinese Air Force. Another reveal is the look of a TSF-like BETA.
We also get the announcement of the Muv-Luv Alternative DLC, which will let players enjoy the original TSF from Alternative, including the Takemikazuchi, and play characters from the series.

Next on the menu is Muv-Luv Girls Garden, and we hear more about the ongoing collaboration with Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse.
Specifically, Cui Yifei will be released after maintenance on October 27, and we also get to see Fikatzia Latrova, who will follow afterward.
Next is info on the main scenario. Part 2, Chapter 1 is currently in production and will be released on December 1. We also get the introduction of its main characters.
We get the introduction of improvements coming to the Circle Suppression Battle. Specifically, the second half will let you choose your difficulty level from 0 to 5. This way, all players in a circle can fight enemies closer to their level.
The P-1 Grand Prix will also be improved by splitting it into 3 divisions: the Rookie Tournament, the Advanced Tournament, and the Champions Tournament.

Another reveal is Muv-Luv Girls Garden Mellow Days, a “productivity companion and communication adventure game” coming to Steam on November 19. It’ll be available in both English and Japanese, plus Simplified Chinese.

Lastly, we get to see the roadmap for the franchise, with the Global release of Girls Garden on Steam (which likely means it’ll be around November) and Mellow Days first, followed by Comiket 109, a launch of a demo for Tactics, followed by the official release of the full game, and then Schwarzesmarken.

Below, you can watch the recording of the full event with English subtitles (you need to manually activate them by pressing the cc button).
