FSLTL is one of the most popular AI traffic add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and MSFS 2020, and the recent loss of live traffic data was a hard blow for its many users. Yet, the problem has been fixed thanks to a partnership with Navigraph and FlightRadar24.
The partnership, announced today on the dedicated Discord Server, lets users inject live traffic data directly from FlightRadar24 into the simulators as long as they have a Navigraph Unlimited subscription.
This is enabled by the new FSLTL 2.0 client that lets you log in directly to your Navigraph account.
The features and caveats are as follows:
Live Traffic Data
- Live traffic injection is now available for Navigraph Unlimited subscription users – at no extra cost!
- Navigraph live traffic data is sourced from FlightRadar24
- Live traffic will be disabled by default at first launch as not all users are Navigraph Unlimited subscribers. To turn live traffic on, see the notes on the new Settings changes below
- With Navigraph selected as the live traffic data feed, when the injector starts, it will automatically start the Navigraph authentication process
- Anytime authorization is required, the injector will automatically navigate to the Navigraph website for you to authorize the FSLTL injector to access your subscription features (if the website does not automatically launch, a URL and code will be provided in the FSLTL injector console window)
- Once authorized, the injector will automatically obtain and renew access, both during a session and future injector sessions, until which time Navigraph requires new authorization
Settings
- A new settings web interface is now available to modify your injector settings
- At injector start, when prompted if you would like to change your settings, answering ‘Y’ will automatically launch the settings webpage
- This webpage is hosted by the injector on your local computer. No data or settings are sent from your computer.
- Each settings has an information icon next to the setting name; hovering your mouse over the icon will give a brief description of the setting
- Change your settings, click Save, and the injector will start with the new settings (you can close the website at your convenience)
- Settings are still stored in the same local .json file as before
- NOTE: Users who have turned on silent mode will still not be prompted to change settings at startup; you can continue to modify the .json manually as needed or turn off silent mode to use the webpage
- At injector start, when prompted if you would like to change your settings, answering ‘Y’ will automatically launch the settings webpage
Incidentally, we hear that Navigraph is also working to add FlightRadar24 traffic directly into its charts.
If you’re unfamiliar with where to get FSLTL, you can grab it directly for free via the FlyByWire installer. Of course, if you want live traffic, you still need to pay for the Navigraph Unlimited subscription.
In case you haven’t heard about this popular free AI traffic add-on, not only does it inject realistic airliner traffic into both MSFS 2024 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, but it also comes with tons of models and liveries ready to populate your simulator of choice.
