The trailer, like several before it, focuses on introducing one of the weapons that we’ll be able to enjoy in the game when it comes out next year, the Charge Blade.

For those who are unfamiliar with the Charge Blade, it’s a weapon capable of transforming between a sword and shield combination and a heavy axe, as you can see in the video below.

When the Charge Blade is in sword and shield mode, you can attack quickly and accurately and charge phials that can then be used to power up the axe mode. That deals much higher damage but it’s obviously slower.

Monster Hunter Wilds is the sequel of the ultra-popular console entry in the series Monster Hunter World, originally released in 2018.

It features an extensive ecosystem simulation that will see monsters live their lives and interact with each other in a complex and realistic way.

As an innovation compared to its predecessor, it includes changes to the ecosystem due to climate, with moments in which conditions are harsh and hostile, while others in which areas are vibrant and brimming with life, affecting the life of monsters and their herds, on top of the players themselves.

Monster Hunter Wilds will release in 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

If you want to see more weapons in action, you can take a look at the Greatsword, the Heavy Bowgun, the Insect Glaive, the Hunting Horn, the Gunlance, and the Long Sword.
