Minecraft had yet another banner year in 2024. Despite being released all the way back in 2009, this now free-to-play crafting game accomplished some insane statistical feats, which Mojang was kind enough to summarize in the form of an end-of-year video.

The video detailed all kinds of stats, including that in 2024, players placed over 300 billion blocks and broke over 347 billion. This year also saw plenty of new content updates explored, including a major update on June 13, 2024, known as the Tricky Trials (update 1.21).

Update 1.21 introduced a new Trial Chambers structure, a mob called the Breeze, and a Mace weapon, among other blocks and items. In the short period of time since its introduction, players have already managed to defeat 20 million Breezes, explore and open 24 million vaults, and so much more.

You can see the full list of Minecraft 2024 stats summarized below:

  • 347 billion blocks broken
  • 44 million Armadillo scutes picked up
  • 1.3 million Wolf armor crafted
  • 491,000 Crafters created
  • 20 million Breezes defeated
  • 2 million Maces crafted
  • 24 million Vaults opened
  • 53 million Eyeblossoms collected
  • 39 million Hardcore mode deaths
  • 1.4 million Bundles dyed
  • 85 billion biomes visited

Since 2024, Minecraft has become the best-selling video game of all time. In that timeframe, it has managed to sell over 300 million copies and average nearly 170 million players a month. The video ended by thanking players for continuing to support Minecraft after 15 years, teasing that there is even more to come in 2025.

While there hasn’t been any information regarding what that upcoming content could be, Microsoft isn’t going to be giving up on the game anytime soon. For more updates on Minecraft, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily.
