Mojang held its March 2026 Minecraft Live event, and it included an announcement for Minecraft Dungeons 2 and Minecraft World. In case you missed it, here’s a roundup of everything that was discussed during the event.
To start with, the Parties feature was announced for Bedrock players. This gives players an in-game way to party up with their friends to make playing together quicker and easier.
Additionally, a few new free-to-play modes were featured, including:
- Soulsteel by Noxcrew (Available Now)
- Mob Maze by GameMode One (Available Now)
- Treasure Hunt by Enchanted (Coming Soon)
- Genwars by InPvP Studios (Coming Soon)
- Unannounced Title by Starfish Studios (Coming Soon)
Next, there was a look at Tiny Takeover, or Drop 1 of 2026, the upcoming update that some players are currently testing. This Drop introduces baby versions of the animals in Minecraft, changing their textures and sounds. Previously, younger animals were just smaller than the older animals in their species. It’s also easier than ever to name the adorable animals.
And, after both developers and players asked for it, an item called the Golden Dandelion will give players the chance to keep the adorable animals tiny.
Tiny Takeover is set to release on March 24, 2026, on both Bedrock and Java Editions of Minecraft.
Next, a new Minecraft Experience is in the works. Minecraft Experience: Moonlight Trail will be an outdoor adventure in Buenos Aires that takes players into the forest. Players will discover and restore an ancient beacon, and it’s set to travel to other cities in the future.
At the same time, the Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue that lets players experience Minecraft in a real-world, immersive environment, is traveling to four new cities, including Herning, Singapore, Mexico City, and Chicago.
Minecraft World was also announced, a project with Merlin Entertainment in Chessington World of Adventures in London. It’ll open its doors next year, letting players meet mobs, the world’s first Minecraft rollercoaster, and the biggest Minecraft shop in the world, among other attractions.
Next, Mojang revealed Minecraft Drop 2 of 2026: Chaos Cubed. Chaos Cubed will introduce a brand-new biome, Sulfur Caves. The caves will stand out a bit with warm reds and yellows with Sulfur and Cinnabar blocks.
The water in these caves is surrounded by potent sulfur, which creates bubbles on top of the water. These bubbles turn into a gas that causes both players and mobs to get nauseous, creating a distorted effect, wobbly effect.
These caves are also home to a new mob, the Sulfur Cube. This adorable mob can absorb blocks, changing its texture and causing them to stop moving. When they’re not moving like this, it can be knocked away, basically becoming a ball. The physics of the mob will change depending on the block it absorbed.
This mechanic also makes it able to be used in mechanics like traps, and it offers a ton of creative ways to create minigames. It can also be split into smaller cube-like slimes. More information about Chaos Cubed can be found here in the Deep Dive from after the show.
Last but not least was the exciting reveal of Minecraft Dungeons 2. The announcement trailer shows off a bit about the world of the upcoming game, which is set to release later in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
This is a brand-new RPG, and more information will be revealed in the next few months.
