In April 2021, Ukrainian developer FlightSimGames announced a Pilatus PC-6 Porter for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, showing images and video of an aircraft already quite far into development. Now, over 4 years later, it’s finally coming for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

Of course, the long development cycle is not surprising, as we can only catch a glimpse of the conditions in which the aircraft was created from the long thread on the official Microsoft Flight Simulator forums that chronicles the process, with the developers coming back occasionally to let fellow simmers know they were ok and to show the progress made.

Such a long time has passed since the initial reveal that I wrote news about this aircraft on two different websites before launching Simulation Daily.

In December 2024, FlightSimGames announced that it was moving development to MSFS 2024, including career support.

Today, the developers released a new trailer revealing that this is the release version.

So you can call me biased, if you’d like, but this certainly brings a smile to my face. The development of this aircraft has accompanied my writing about Microsoft Flight Simulator for over four years, through three different workplaces.

Specific release details have not yet been announced, but you can watch the new video below, showing the career mode integration, among other things.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is also available for PC and Xbox Series X|S, and Microsoft Flight Simulator is also available for the same platforms. If you want to see the massive visual difference between the two, you can enjoy our video and screenshot comparison.

If you’d like to read more flight simulation news, you can find plenty in our latest roundup article from yesterday.
