The City Update 11 is free for everyone, and it’s simply dubbed “Northeastern United States 2.” It’s intended to celebrate the opening of FlightSimExpo 2025 today in Providence, Rhode Island.

It brings recent high-resolution aerial and satellite imagery, digital elevation models, and TIN surface texturing (what used to be called photogrammetry).

It includes Rhode Island itself, including all its major cities like Providence, Cranston, and Warwick.

Massachusetts is also represented by Boston and Plymouth. New Jersey includes Northeastern New Jersey with Newark, Hackensack, and Paterson, and Central Jersey with Elizabeth, New Brunswick, and Edison.

The New York area comes with Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Long Island’s East End.

The new aircraft is the Famous Flyer 12, the Piper PA-28-236 Dakota developed by Carenado. It’s available for free for everyone who purchased Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 as part of the series of aircraft released to make up for the problems at release.

Those who have MSFS 2020 don’t get it for free but can purchase it on the official marketplace for the usual $14.99.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is available for PC and Xbox Series X|S.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is also available for the same platforms. If you want to see the massive visual difference against Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, you can enjoy our video and screenshot comparison.
