We take a look at several images of the upcoming aircraft, and we learn that the internal beta testing is going very well.

The Flight Management System is going to take another 4-6 months to complete, all of the other systems, excluding the EFB (which isn’t considered specifically part of the “systems”), while all of the other systems should be done by Q1 2026.

Interestingly, we learn that the systems team welcomed a fourth member who is actually a 757 pilot. She has coded the doors, the ice and rain system, the oxygen system, the fire suppression system, and the indicating and recording system, all to a “very high level.”

The Indicating and Recording system has over 350 EICAS messages, and all the inhibition logic is modeled.

We also learn that the landing gear system and brakes will be done by the end of the year. Engines and communications will be done by Q1 2026.

Speaking about the FMS, it’s 80% done, but the last 20% is what will take 4-6 months to complete. While BlueBird has previously said that the aircraft would be released before Grand Theft Auto 6 (which has recently been delayed), if the FMS isn’t complete by May, the 757 will be delayed as well, as it’s the most important system.

That being said, good progress is being made on all the systems.

We also get the reiteration of the fact that the aircraft will be released in native form for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

It’ll be made 2024-native at a later date, and that is included in the asking price of $80. The aircraft is being tested in both simulators, and it runs “really good” performance-wise.

Incidentally, the video highlights the GoFundMe created by BlueBird to help lead 3D artist Jafarie, who lives in Jamaica and was gravely affected by Hurricane Melissa. If you want to help out one of the creators of the 757 and of the 767, which will come at a later time, you can do so at the dedicated GoFundMe page.
