One of the most anticipated upcoming releases for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is the Boeing 737 for PMDG, which, for now, has been confined to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, at least officially.

Luckily, the wait appears to be coming to an end, at least for the -800 version of the popular airliner. PMDG CEO Robert Randazzo announced that beta tasting will start tomorrow.

The developer expects a ” pretty quick, but robust testing program.”

The new build includes upgraded and new features, including the ability to open the flight deck door and windows, while more will be shared between now and release.

While the -800 will come first due to its popularity, the rest of the lineup “will fit in pretty quickly behind that release as conversion work for them has already well underway.”

Randazzo also shared news about the 777 lineup, including an update that has just been pushed online to the Operation Center, fixing an issue with LOD caused by Sim Update 3. More changes are being tested and will be patched in by the weekend.

Updates are also coming to the Marketplace Version, and should be released hopefully on Monday or Tuesday, followed by another round immediately after.

The 777-200LR should also be published on the official marketplace relatively soon, as it’ll be pushed for intake before the weekend.

Last, but not least, the sound updates for the 777 lineup should come with an initial release “in the coming weeks.” Randazzo appears to be very enthusiastic about them.

“These are easily the best sounds we have produced and engineered into a product thus far- and the improvement to the immersive quality of the flying experience is tremendous. We have really captured the character and vibrancy of the engines and added a bunch of new sounds from the aircraft flight deck and cabin environment that we think you will really enjoy.”

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is available for PC and Xbox Series X|S, while the older Microsoft Flight Simulator is also available for the same platforms. If you want to see the massive visual difference between the two, you can enjoy our video and screenshot comparison.
