Orbx originally released its officially licensed DLC Jurassic World: Archipelago only for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, but today those who opted to stay back on Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 get their healthy ration of dinosaur spotting.

The Bus Full Release Date Announced

For the moment, the MSFS 2020 version of Jurassic World: Archipelago is available only for PC on Orbx’s own storefront, Orbx Direct, with a marketplace release including Xbox coming at a later time.

A launch discount is currently being offered, bringing the price down to $15.99 for a limited time, while the full price is $19.99. There is also a bundle with the flight tracking application Volanta, offering 6 months of premim time for $29.99, discounted down from $34.99.

It’s worth reminding that the MSFS 2024 version is available on Orbx Direct as well, on top of the official marketplace, including Xbox.

The content of the add-on is pretty much the same of what we’ve seen for the Microosft Flight Simulator 2024 version, incliuding the missions, although you won’t be able to walk around, since that’s a MSFS 2024 native feature.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Highly detailed islands
  • Highly detailed theme park structures
  • Animals and structures based on licenced movie references
  • Custom airfields and helipads
  • Animated dinosaurs and flying reptiles
  • Animal sounds made from original licenced sources
  • Ambient sounds for waterfalls and some buildings
  • Ruins of the dinosaur creation facilities at ‘Site B’ (Isla Sorna)
  • Unique animations and visual effects

The locations included in the add-on are Isla Nublar, Isla Sorna, Isla Matanceros, Isla Muerta, Isla Peña, Isla Tacaño, Herradura Bay Marina, and Juan Santamaría International Airport (MROC).

You’ll be able to spot plenty of dinosaurs including Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Dimorphodon, Gallimimus, Mosasaurus, Pteranodon, Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus rex, Velociraptor, and more.

Those who purchased the MSFS 2024 version can also get the MSFS 2020 version priced down to $5.

You can check out a gallery of screenshots below, and if you’d like to hear more, you can listen our interview with Orbx CEO Anna Cicognani. If you’re new to flight simulation, you can also watch our dedicated tutorial video. While it’s filmed in MSFS 2024, the flight instruction is prettyb much identical.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is available for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
