Marvel Rivals Gets First Update With Version 20241210

team fight in Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals has received its first update, Version 20241210, less than a week since its launch, patching some bugs around the map and with some of the characters, among other things.

While a few updates are PC or console specific, most apply to both. A few of the smaller glitches have been fixed:

Additionally, some maps have been updated a bit because of weird edges. Players were getting stuck or accidentally entering in-between areas on several maps, particularly Hydra Charteris Base: Hell’s Heaven and Klyntar: Symbiotic Surface. However, the patch notes warned that the problem was large and could affect other areas that aren’t fixed yet.

The foggy areas in the Hall of Djalia and Birnin T’Challa on the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda map had several updates. Fog would disappear for Storm and Hela when they used their Ultimates, and Jeff the Land Shark also had visual effects on his abilities in rare cases here. These have been fixed.

Hydra Charteris Base: Hell’s Heaven was the most heavily patched map. In Frozen Airfield, lighting would act weird when players were KO’d while moving in Competitive. Also, visual glitches caused doors to show open or closed when they were the opposite. Both of these were patched.

In Eldritch Monument, there were several problems related to characters when the target area lifts and lowers:

All of those have been fixed, hopefully eliminating the problems from (what I think) is one of the coolest maps in the game.

There were a few issues with Competitive that have been fixed. Vehicle ranges and character Ultimate energy would sometimes work incorrectly. These are now working correctly.

Several Marvel Rivals characters had specific bugs that were fixed in the update:

All of the above bugs were fixed with the exception of Doctor Strange’s. For right now, portal terrain kills don’t count as KO’s for Doctor Strange while developers look into the problem and find a fix.

On PC specifically, the FSR 3 frame generation technology was causing memory leaks (leafing to blurry models) when used to modify the game’s resolution. This has been fixed.

On consoles, the Scarlet Spider costume in the PlayStation bundle would not display when equipped in some scenarios. Now, players can use the costume with no worries.
