Marvel Rivals released a trailer centered around the Spring Festival, a new event in the hero shooter that comes with a new game mode and three new skins to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
The three skins are for Star-Lord, Black Widow, and Iron Fist, all of whom are Duelists. Star-Lord’s skin will be free as a reward during the Spring Festival, though there’s no word on how exactly to unlock it. Considering Jeff’s free winter skin was obtained through playing the new mode, it’s likely that will be the case again.
The new mode, Clash of Dancing Lions, takes the three Duelists above and puts them on teams in a soccer arena. The three-versus-three showdown is a soccer match, and each character will need to utilize their melee and movement skills to score goals.
Additionally, a Gallery Card customization event called Fortunes and Colors will take place. Not much was revealed about this other than its name and that it’s a customization event, the first of its kind in Marvel Rivals.
Other rewards that players will be able to get during the Spring Festival include a nameplate. The trailer also looks like it teases emotes as well.
The Spring Festival will kick off on January 23 at 1 am PST, in the middle of Season One, which focuses on the Fantastic Four.
