Riot Games has released the cinematic premiere for League of Legends 2025 Season 2, which will be in the world of Spirit Blossom Beyond.

Last year, Riot announced that League of Legends in 2025 would include three seasons that are themed after different areas in Runeterra, the universe of League of Legends. The first of these lasts until the end of April, which was themed around Noxus.

The second has just been announced, and it’s the world of Spirit Blossom Beyond. The Spirit Blossom Beyond world is a bit different than Noxus, considering it’s based on mythology in Ionia (another region in Runeterra) that uses League of Legends Champions to represent the mythological characters.

The Spirit Blossom Beyond season, like the Noxus season, will change various things around the map. The towers, minions, bases, and general aesthetic of the map will be changed to match the Spirit Blossom theme. Players don’t know what this will look like yet, but the general aesthetic can be seen in the splash arts for the current Spirit Blossom skins as well as the cinematic itself.

Additionally, Xin Zhao will get two motion comics a few weeks after Season 2 begins. Xin Zhao currently has a Spirit Blossom skin, so his feature here makes sense.

The cinematic expands a bit on the other things coming with the 2025 Season 2. While there’s no officially released information besides the cinematic, it does show off a few champions who will more than likely get Spirit Blossom skins:

  • Ashe
  • Lux
  • Shen
  • Irelia
  • Morgana

League of Legends players can watch the 2025 Season 2 cinematic below:

Spirit Blossom Beyond will be brought to League of Legends when 2025 Season 2 starts on April 30, 2025, at 11 am PDT. The Xin Zhao comics will follow shortly after on May 14, 2025.

These cinematic trailers look like they’ll be released at the start of every season. Last Season, a cinematic was released for Noxus as well.
