Today, publisher Krafton announced that it has officially acquired the creators of the Last Epoch, Eleventh Hour Games (EHG).
Originally founded in 2018, Eleventh Hour Games grew to prominence thanks to the community around the Kickstarter campaign for the Last Epoch, which officially launched in 2024. Since then, the APRG has sold over 3 million copies worldwide, thanks to innovative systems, gameplay design, and a commitment to refining the core elements that define the genre.
Specifically, Last Epoch boasts a unique timeline, time-travel system where players travel across the world of Eterra’s past and face dark empires, wrathful gods, and untouched wilds. Key features include 15 classes, 120 skills, a powerful look, a rewarding crafting system, and an emphasis on replayability.
Alongside this, Eleventh Hour Games places a large emphasis on avoiding pay-to-win advantages. They’ve stated that they believe “in creating a fair environment for all players.”
Barrier-to-entry is also an important focus for the team, as they created the gameplay experience to cater to everyone at the beginning. However, mastering the game is no easy feat, giving veterans a high ceiling to master when it comes to combat and build-crafting.
As a publisher, Krafton has a varied history, as they are responsible for properties like PUBG: Battlegrounds, PUBG MOBILE, inZOI, Subnautica, Hi-Fi Rush, Dinkum, and Tera. The company’s mission statement revolves around winning over more fans by broadening KRAFTON’s platforms and services.
“We are thrilled to welcome Eleventh Hour Games into the KRAFTON family,” said Maria Park, Head of Corporate Development at KRAFTON. “The team’s commitment to the ARPG community and innovative approach to game development resonated strongly with our values. Their rise from a grassroots studio to a globally renowned ARPG developer is nothing short of remarkable. We believe this acquisition lays the groundwork for diversifying KRAFTON’s genre portfolio and expanding distinctive franchise IPs. This acquisition also reaffirms our unwavering passion for great games and the teams that build them. We will always stand behind developers who put players first.”
Last Epoch is currently available on Steam for $34.99. For more information on this and any other ARPG titles or Krafton publishing titles, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily.
