You can pre-order the standard edition for $79.99 and the Founder’s Edition for $139.99. After release, the prices will grow to $99.99 and $179.99, respectively.

No release date has been announceed for the moment, but the platform will be PC only.

The simulator will bring you back to the sky of Korea at the beginning of the Cold War after North Korea invaded the South in 1950 with the support of the Soviet Union and then China.

The communist forces almost managed to conquer the whole country, until United Nations forces led by the United States intervened and pushed them back, laying the foundation of the stalemate that continues today.

You’ll be able to fly under the flags of the United States, the Republic of Korea, the DPRK, the Soviet Union, and the PRC.

The standard edition promises the following features.

  • 2 Collector Planes (F-84E Thunderjet and La-11)
  • 6 legendary early Cold War aircraft to fly – F-86A Sabre, MiG-15bis, F-51D Mustang, Yak-9P, F-80C-10 Shooting Star and IL-10
  • Unique Aerobatic Team Liveries for MiG-15, F-86 Sabre, and F-84 Thunderjet
  • Unique Liveries for La-5s and P-51D that will unlock in Great Battles for customers who own these aircraft immediately after placing the pre-order
  • Huge Map of the Korean Peninsula in 1950s
  • Interactive Museum Mode
  • Commander Career
  • Quick Mission Builder
  • Custom Single-Player Missions
  • Scripted Campaign Support
  • Multiplayer Mode

The Founder’s Edition will also offer the DLCs that will be released across 2026, including 5 unannounced aircraft and their liveries.

To celebrate, the developer released a trailer, which you can watch below.

If you want to see more, you can check out some interesting animations for the artillery units that will be implemented in the game, the model for the Lavochkin La-11 piston fighter and its cockpit, and a look at the ground vehicles and their destruction.

We also have a video focusing on engine sounds and a rather spectacular look at the visual damage modeling.

If you’re unfamiliar with the IL-2 series, it’s a combat flight simulation series that debuted all the way back in 2001 with IL-2 Sturmovik, set on the Eastern Front of World War II.

At that time, it was very innovative among combat flight simulators and provided a lot of interesting features in a genre that was already starting to drop out of the AAA field into a much smaller niche. It also included a rather advanced multiplayer suite for the time.
