Today, Konami announced its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, related to the period between April 2025 and June 2025.

According to the documents provided by the publisher, total revenue for the quarter was 96,964 million yen (up 7.7% year-on-year), while business profit was 27,647 million yen (up 9.9% year-on-year).

Konami mentions that all business figures were record-high for the second consecutive year, mainly driven by the continued strong performance of key titles in the Digital Entertainment business, which includes video games and Yu-Gi-Oh.

Speaking of the Digital Entertainment Business itself, it carried the day within Konami, with revenue at 73,315 million yen (up 14.2% year-on-year) and business profit for the quarter at 27,868 million yen (up 17.0% year-on-year).

According to the publisher, eFootball “continues to perform well” and has surpassed 850 million cumulative downloads. The game is further mentioned as having enjoyed a “strong performance.”

Incidentally, no change has been made to the forecast for the full fiscal year, which expects total revenue of 430,000 million yen and business profit of 114,000 million yen, both up from the 421,602 million yen in revenue and business profit 109,110 million yen achieved in the past fiscal year.

For the Digital Entertainment business, the expectation is 310,000 million yen in revenue and 103,000 million yen in business profit, again, both compared to the 305,187 million yen in revenue and 98,935 million yen in business profit achieved in FY 2025.

It’s worth mentioning once again that the Digital Entertainment business takes the Lion’s share of Konami’s overall business. When you hear people saying that the company makes money with pachinko and pachislot, that’s a common misconception. Revenue of the Amusement business (which includes Pachinko and Pachislot) was only 4,600 million yen this quarter (compared to 73,315 million yen for Digital Entertainment).

If you’d like to compare these results with historical data, you can read our report about the past fiscal year, based on data released in May.

Other gaming companies have also already announced their financial results this quarter, including Koei Tecmo, Ubisoft, Krafton, Electronic Arts, Capcom, and Microsoft.
