Today saw the release of the action RPG and quasi-medieval sim Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and things are going quite well for Warhorse Studios.

The peak concurrent player count on the game’s debut day on Steam (as reported by the tracking site SteamDB) was 159,351. That’s quite flattering, considering that the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance never passed 100,000 concurrent players, with its peak at 96,069.

It’s worth mentioning that these are concurrent players, not total players, which means that the total sales are much higher, especially considering that this is only Steam and the game was also launched on Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Steam Players

The game was the 8th most-played game on Steam today but is at the very top if we consider exclusively single-player games. It’s also within the top 100 if we look at all-time stats.

The game also has achieved “very positive” reviews on Steam at the moment of this writing, just below the “overwhelmingly positive” with 94.4% positive reviews and 5.6% negative reviews.

This kind of launch is certainly positive for an action RPG like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, considering that the core mechanics are known to be rather challenging.

It’ll be interesting to hear the first sales data about the game. It’s likely that Warhorse will have some relevant numbers to announce soon, especially considering that Deep Silver’s parent company Embracer will host its financial results next week.

If you’d like to read more about Kingdom Come: Deliverance, you can take a look at the rich roadmap of updates and DLC coming after the launch of the game.
