There’s no information about what role they’ll fill in the game or what their abilities are. However, knowing the two heroes can give some context for what they might be able to do.

Thor is known for his ability to wield Mjolner, a hammer that can deal pretty hefty damage. Using it, he can also fly. As the God of Thunder, he can also use lightning to help him in battle. He can also control an axe, Stormbreaker, which does what Mjolner does while also allowing him to travel at instant speed.

While Thor’s got several movies under his belt to showcase his power, Jeff the Land Shark is less well-known. He was created by bad guy Modok and rescued by Gwenpool. Jeff is known for his rows of teeth, and the teaser from Marvel Rivals showed him zipping around quickly. He also sang and sneezed bubbles, which may be some kind of hint about his upcoming powers.

Jeff’s appearance in Marvel Rivals fits in with Marvel’s other media, too. The movie Deadpool and Wolverine was just released, and Deadpool has a close relationship with Jeff in the comics. Additionally, the Marvel card game, Marvel Snap, features Gwenpool this season.

The 6v6 team-based PVP game is still in a closed beta, and getting keys is difficult. However, If 6v6 action is your style, then check out how Overwatch 2’s future 6v6 testing.
