InZOI Studio has released an update for March 2026 focused on the graphics rendering of inZOI, which should improve how well the game runs (and looks) on both high- and low-end PCs.
These changes are mostly targeting the quality of light and shadow rendering, which help boost how realistic the game looks.
To start with, the graphics quality and lighting depth were improved in high and ultra presets. These changes include:
- Indirect lighting values have been changed to create more vivid light and more realistic indoor lighting
- Ghosting issues with character movement have been fixed
- Outdoor indirect light no longer comes indoors (which was creating a yellow tint in some indoor areas)
- Indoor and outdoor lighting have been separated, fixing problems with overly dark indoor areas at night
PCs that are running medium and low presets can upgrade the graphics quality with Screen Space GI (SSGI). This is now enabled by default, and it helps render lighting without being strenuous on the PC. Additionally, these presets have also had color balance changes and new Global Illumination options (found under graphics settings).
The very low preset option has also been adjusted, making it so that real-time shadows (VSM) only show on major structures and a less intensive blob shadow is used for smaller assets. The background texture quality for lower-spec PCs has also been improved.
A shadow toggle can also be found under advanced graphics settings. Plus, the “Showing Exterior Walls” and “Wall Removal Mode” have been fixed, making it so that ceiling structures are properly hidden in these modes. This also improved the noise and flickering that came from the indoor lighting in these modes.
If you want a visual of all these changes, inZOI Studio also released a before-and-after video that fans can view below. The update log itself is available on the official inZOI Discord.
InZOI is currently available on PC, though there are plans for it to come to PlayStation 5 this year.
