Japanese developer Technobrain announced the release date of the Tokyo Narita DLC expansion for the Steam version of its ATC simulator, I am an Air Traffic Controller 4.

The DLC will launch on May 20, 2025, adding the famous airport in Chiba prefecture that handles a large part of the international traffic to and from the Japanese capital.

You can already wishlist it on its Steam page.

The expansion includes plenty of scenarios taking advantage of the fact that Narita covers a huge area, radically influencing taxi times between the runways and the gates or stands.

Players also have to contend with some interesting problems like bad weather, animal incursions, and the requirement to ensure greater separation for large airliners and cargo aircraft.

It’s a very different challenge compared to the airport on which the default game focuses, which is Tokyo’s other hub, Haneda.

If you’re unfamiliar with I am an Air Traffic Controller (also known as “Bokukan” in Japan), it’s a long-running series of Air Traffic Controller simulators that debuted all the way back in 1998 in Japan.

The fourth chapter is the first to receive an official localization in English and a release on Steam, although its DLC launch significantly later compared to the Japanese version.

It also serves as the base of the Airport Hero series on consoles, while Technobrain also recently released a cuter, more casual Airport management minigame titled Pocket and Zooom.

If you’re into flight simulation, the name Technobrain may also ring a bell. The company is well-known for its excellent airports for flight sims. They semi-recently released Yao and Osaka Kansai for Microsoft Flight Simulator, and they’re currently working on Tokyo Haneda.
