Cozy Rooftop Building Sim High Above Revealed for PC

High Above takes the idea of cozy decorating and combines it with the ultimate city comfort spot: a rooftop. The game, which was announced yesterday, will be available on PC later this year.

DVision Games, a solo developer who goes by Alex, revealed High Above at the Future Games Show. The game itself is focused on being the ultimate relaxing escape — there are no timers, no limits, and no objectives to complete.

Instead, players kick back and build and decorate at their own speed. There are architectural styles to choose from, like modern, Mediterranean, Japanese, Cuban, and post-apocalyptic.

Some rooftops have small rooms on them, which players can decorate as well.

A day and night cycle will give players the chance to see what their rooftop looks like at different times of the day. Cozy lighting keeps the nighttime blues away, while the day brings sunshine and happiness.

As time goes by, the rooftop will come alive. Animals can visit, vines will grow, and other details were explicitly added to help the rooftop feel alive.

Of course, as a cozy game, the music and sound effects are very important. The Future Games Show trailer lets the music create a calming ambiance, and sound effects like rain and wind were part of the weather effects.

High Above is set to release in 2025 on PC, though there’s no release date or smaller window at the time of writing. Players can wishlist it now.
