Arrowhead Game Studios addressed fans earlier today about the state of Helldivers 2 and the problems that players have been experiencing, revealing a glimpse into the plans to fix them.
To start with, an update will come in a few weeks, in the middle of October, that starts addressing some of the common problems. This should include the following:
- Some crash fixes
- Primary/Side-arm audio disappearances
- Performance improvements
- Bug fixes for old bugs, like footstep sounds and audio bugs
- Removal of accidental cave landings
- Balance Pass (including Niklas and Lennart)
The development team explained that these aren’t fixes for some of the bigger problems found in Helldivers 2. To fix those, they’ll need more time to completely eradicate the problems instead of sticking a bandage on them.
Arrowhead Game Studios also apologized to fans for not being upfront about these issues from the start and for not addressing the problems in previous patches. In the future, it plans to share more about in-game issues, the process behind fixing them, and plans for the future.
Currently, the development team is working on a roadmap to address these problems and communicate better with players. In fact, the development team will be releasing another state of the game update later this week.
These fixes are coming after Helldivers 2 launched on Xbox and the Into the Unjust Warbond update. Helldivers 2 has had a lot of new content added to it lately, and these bug fixes should serve to improve the game even more.
Helldivers 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
