New Helldivers 2 Warbond Turns up the Heat

A new premium Warbond, Freedom’s Flame, is setting fire to Helldivers 2. The new battlepass-esque line includes new weapons, armor, and cosmetic items like skins, emotes, and capes.

A PlayStation blog post confirmed the Warbond and its contents.

Two new Primary weapons come with Freedom’s Flame: the SG-451 Cookout and FLAM-66 Torcher. The Cookout is a shotgun with shots that can catch on fire. Following the same theme is the Torcher, which is a lightweight flamethrower.

Additionally, a new Secondary weapon is also coming called the P-72 Crisper. The pocket-sized flamethrower is a short ranged fire-throwing machine.

Firebomb Hellpods is the new Booster, which will literally burn the ground beneath the player as they come in. It simultaneously catches the drop site on fire, which is perfect for the Cookout.

Luckily, a new armor passive, Inflammable, ignores 75% of damage from fire. Plus, Freedom’s Flame also includes new armor sets. The I-09 Heatseeker features blood-red plates while the I-102 Draconaught is made of yellow and white silica fiber foam.

With a new Safety Orange skin, players can repaint their gear in bright orange – got to make sure teammates know danger is ahead with flame-crazy gear. If that’s not enough, the new Fire Safety Officer title will let them know to be on their toes.

New emotes include Big Stretch, Deep Reflection, and Thoracic Collision Exultation Manoeuvre, which is a co-emote.

The new cape, Purifying Eclipse, is a nod to the First Galactic War. This is meant to be a tribute to the Liberation of Choepess IV when the sun was blocked out by fallout for a month.

The Breach card references a graphic novel that’s canon in the game. It details the story of the 361st Freedom’s Flame unit that sacrificed itself to trigger a volcanic eruption and wipe out loads of Terminids.
