The DreamHack Open Birmingham featuring Halo will take place across three days during the DreamHack event next year, which takes place from March 27 to March 29, 2026. There will be several events, offering different team sizes, including free-for-alls, two-versus-two, and four-versus-four.

The four-versus-four tournament will have an open series qualifier online, where any four-man team can take part. This online event will take place before the DreamHack Birmingham Halo tournament, and more details about it will be revealed in the future.

The DreamHack Open Birmingham featuring Halo will have a prize pool, which will also be discussed more in the future.

This isn’t the first time DreamHack Birmingham has included Halo in its esports festivities. Tahir “Tashi” Hasangjekaj, the Director of Competitive Engagement at Halo Studios, spoke about this and how excited they are for the upcoming Halo event:

“Halo has been part of DreamHack for nearly a decade now and has always delivered an unforgettable experience for the Halo community. We are thankful for our close partners, many of which have been with Halo esports since the beginning, for investing and supporting the grassroots scene and we are delighted to contribute prize money and player travel as we all celebrate 25 years of this amazing franchise.”

Adam Apicella from EFG also shared thoughts on The DreamHack Open Birmingham featuring Halo:

“We are very excited to be continuing the legacy of Halo at DreamHack Birmingham next Spring. Halo has a very special place in gaming and esports history and this program of tournaments at DreamHack Birmingham, coupled with the 25th Anniversary of Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo Fest will make 2026 an incredibly memorable year for fans.”

DreamHack Birmingham has also held various high-stakes Halo competitions in the past, including tournaments for the Halo Championship Series, Halo 5, and the MCC Pro Series.

Halo fans are getting a lot of exciting news lately. News last year explained that future projects in the Halo franchise would be built in Unreal Engine 5, and Halo: Campaign Evolved, a Halo: Combat Evolved remake, was just revealed.

The upcoming Halo title will be available on PC and Xbox, including a day-one Game Pass release for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Additionally, it will be released on PlayStation 5.
