Ground of Aces - Avro Lancaster

Blindflug Studios released today the early access version of its base builder and management simulator Ground of Aces, letting you take control of the administrator of a RAF base during World War II.

The early access of this interesting indie sim is available now via Steam, priced at $22.49 with a 10% launch discount that lasts until July 24.

The game includes the following mechanics, allowing you to relive the deeds of pilots and base personnel during the Battle of Britain:

We also get a launch trailer, showing plenty of gameplay for you to get an idea of what it looks like.

Interestingly, the developer also published a roadmap showing what has already been implemented and what is planned to be included in terms of content and features on the road to the full release that will come down the line.

There are plenty more activities for your pilots and base personnel, and even a whole new faction. Blindflug promises they’ll come via “regular updates.”

Ground of Aces has been in development for a while and has gone through a series of alpha tests, which certainly contributed to reaching its current state.

The press release announcing the launch included a comment from Executive Producer Moritz Zumbühl celebrating the milestone.

“I’m absolutely thrilled that we’re able to launch Ground of Aces into Early Access right on time for the 85th anniversary of the start of the Battle of Britain. This game is a true passion project for our team – it brings together our love for aviation, World War II, and the base-building genre in a unique title. The demo already received fantastic feedback, and we’re excited to continue developing Ground of Aces together with the community during Early Access. We can’t wait to hear what the fans think!”
