Blindflug Studios has revealed the early access release date for its WWII management sim, Ground of Aces, and it’s coming in just a few weeks.
Ground of Aces will be releasing into early access on July 10. Players will have the chance to manage a World War II air base, complete with iconic aircraft and unique challenges that come with war at air bases. July 10 is the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, which was the first battle fought entirely by aircraft.
Executive Producer Moritz Zumbühl explained the significance of the release date for Ground of Aces:
“Over the past few months, we’ve worked closely with our community, and we’re incredibly excited to launch the Early Access version of Ground of Aces exactly on the 85th anniversary of the start of the Battle of Britain. July 10 is our D-Day – and we can’t wait to send players on their mission.”
At the beginning of early access, players will be able to play as the British Royal Air Force during World War II. Players will be able to collect a variety of British aircraft as well. The Battle of Britain will also be included in Ground of Aces.
Ground of Aces currently has a demo that players can try until June 30. After that, the demo will be removed, and the early access version of the game will be released the next month.
Ground of Aces puts players in the shoes of an air base commander. Most of the game is centered around base building and commanding the fleet of aircraft. For example, players will need to select the correct aircraft for each mission. They’ll also experience the stories of their crew, making them more than just numbers.
