Today, Gran Turismo 7 Producer Kazunori Yamauchi provided the usual tease of the upcoming update for the game.
What isn’t usual is the fact that the update is coming next week, which is very early compared to the traditional end-of-the-month timeframe.
That being said, this month marks the 4th anniversary of the release of Gran Turismo 7, so it’s possible that Polyphony Digital is preparing to celebrate with something bigger than usual.
For now, we only see the three cars covered by blankets on Yamauchi-san’s X (formerly Twitter) account.
One seems to be a classic Honda RX7, the other appears to be a Chevrolet Camaro, while the third should be a modern SUV. You can see the picture for yourself at the top of the post if you’re interested in doing some guesswork.
One thing is for sure, none of them is the recently-revealed Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo.
Of course, you can expect us to report the update’s exact content when it launches. Usually, it happens early in the week, so it’s just a few days away. Incidentally, considering the fact that it’s the anniversary update, it may include more than cars, although no information was provided one way or the other. We’ll have to wait and see.
Gran Turismo 7 is currently available for PS5 and PS4. Polyphony Digital has been updating it regularly since its launch in March 2022.
If you’re interested, you can check out the content of the previous update, which came with the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra ’25, the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) ’22, and the Hyundai ELANTRA N TC ’24.
The finals of the Gran Turismo World Series 2025 have also been hosted receingly, seeing the victory of Team Porsche for the Manufacturers Cup and Jose Serrano for the Nations Cup.
