HoYoverse has held the livestream for Genshin Impact Version 5.8, revealing the fun (and permanent) summer update, the first-ever Nod-Krai character who’s bringing a new reaction to the game, two new skins, optimizations, and more.
In Genshin Impact Version 5.8, players will get to travel to the Easybreeze Holiday Resort in Natlan. This is a brand new permanent summer adventure map, where players will experience the infamous summer events, including Travels Are Fuller With Friends and Strikers Through the Storm. Players will be able to get limited-time rewards from these events, including a new outfit for Bennett and a four-star Claymore.
The Story Quest associated with the new summer area features Bennet, Chasca, and Mualani, along with appearances from Venti and the resort’s mascot, Asha. Players will also meet Ineffa, the first character from the upcoming region of Nod-Krai.
Ineffa will debut as a five-star Polearm user who’s introducing the Lunar-Charged reaction. The Lunar-Charged reaction creates a Thundercloud that will constantly deal Electro Damage to enemies who are affected by both Electro and Hydro. It also has the potential to land Critical Hits.
If Ineffa is in the team, then Electro-Charged reactions will automatically become Lunar-Charged reactions. While on the field, Ineffa creates a shield and can summon her assistant, Birgitta. Birgitta will occasionally go towards enemies and deal AoE Electro Damage, and the assistant will deal an additional attack if there’s a Lunar-Charged Thundercloud.
Ineffa will be available on the first phase of the Version 5.8 event wishes, alongside Citlali. The second phase will feature Maulani and Chasca. While Yelan won’t be on any of the banners, she is getting a new Fontaine-style outfit that will be discounted through Version 5.8.
Genshin Impact Version 5.8 is also introducing several system optimizations. When trying characters, short videos will play to quickly showcase how they work. For quests that take place at a certain time, players will be able to automatically set the time with a Navigate button.
Last but not least is an improved material tracking system that helps players see what characters can quickly find resources.
