Today, Netmarble and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced the full release date of the upcoming Game of Thrones free-to-play open-world action RPG Game of Thrones: Kingsroad.
The game will launch on May 21 on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and a dedicated Windows launcher. On top of that, it’ll also release on iOS and Android.
It’s worth mentioning that the game has already been available for a few weeks in early access on Steam.
To celebrate, we get a trailer in which Jon Snow himself asks for help to protect Westeros against the looming threat of the White Walkers, while in the second half, Game Director Hyunil Jang introduces the new.
Speaking of news, the developers also addressed feedback on the adjustments made to the acquisition of Copper in the game. We hear that they are “exploring various methods to diversify Copper acquisition, increase the overall amount players can acquire, and adjust unnecessary consumption points.”
Aong the solutions being considered is higher Copper rewards for repeatable content that consumes RP, on top of normalizing the production and trade in the Estate (which are currently underperforming), turning them into significant sources of Copper.
Specifically, the Production and Trade system in Renan’s Rest is being overhauled so that they provide a passive source of Copper. This includes the ability to hire workers who generate more Copper over time.
These changes were supposed to come in the latest update, but they need more time in the oven, so they’ll come at a later date.
Speaking of the update, which was released yesterday, it’s fairly beefy, and you can find the full patch notes on Steam. It includes balance adjstments, new events, and plenty of fixes and quality-of-life improvements.
If you’re unfamiliar with the game, it’s an open-world action RPG that’s also free-to-play. Being an official Game of Thrones title, it features many known characters from the TV series, including their actors’ likenesses.
It lets you play an original character (you can check out the extensive character creation suite) as they struggle to unite Westeros at the behest of Jon Snow. In order to do that, they need to explore the continent, including places that haven’t received much attentions in the TV show and books, like the Stormlands.
