Today, Microsoft released a new trailer of the upcoming open-world racing game Forza Horizon 6, focusing on on eof the cars included in the game.
Specifically, the video focuses on the Toyota Land Cruiser and its ability to negotiate pretty much every terrain Japan throws at it.
That includes roads, snow, river beds, frozen lakes, mountain paths, ravines, and more. The trailer is indeed also a chance to experience the diversity of terrain included in the map, which certainly does reflect the real Japan as soon as you get out of the big cities.
It’ll be interesting to see if we’ll get a series of similar trailers showcasing a variety of vehicles going forward, but for now, you can watch this one below.
Forza Horizon 6 will release for PC and Xbox Series X|S on May 19, 2026. A PS5 version has also been announced, but it’ll come at a later time within 2026. A precise release date has not been announced.
The game that was officially revealed back in September to celebrate Tokyo Game Show 2025 will finally bring the franchise to Japan, a setting that has been requested by fans pretty much since the first Forza Horizon showcased the potential of open-world racing games.

Incidentally, if you’d rather see Japan from above instead of from the road, you can check out our coverage of the World Update 20 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and MSFS 2020, which also focused on the archipelago of the rising sun.
