Apparently, the return of Fujimi Kaido to Forza Motorsport was just an appetizer, as Forza Horizon 6 will be set in Japan, finally fulfilling the requests from many fans who have been asking for this for a long time.

And yes, yours truly is one of them.

We don’t have many details about the game, besides a somewhat vague interview posted on Xbox Wire. That being said, we do know that the open-world driving game will come out in 2026.

We also hear that it’ll feature Tokyo (including its elevated roads), alongside the countryside, featuring both rural and mountainous areas.

Tokyo will be one of the developer’s “most detailed and layered environments to date.”

As usual, the map won’t be a 1:1 reproduction of Japan, but aims to “capture the country’s unique cultural essence and present it back in the most Horizon way possible.”

We also know that changing seasons will make a comeback, which isn’t surprising considering the beauty and diversity of Japanese seasons. They won’t just change how the game looks, but also how it feels.

Further information about the game will be released in early 2026.

Incidentally, Forza Horizon isn’t the only Microsoft game going to Japan today, as both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and MSFS 2020 just received the free World Update 20, dedicated to enriching and embellishing the archipelago of the rising sun.
