Few tracks are as beloved among veteran Forza Motorsport fans as Fujimi Kaido, a fictional course designed to imitate the winding roads of Japanese mountain passes made famous by Initial D and the drifting scene.

Yet, the track disappeared after Forza Motorsport 4, and thousands of requests from the fans found no purchase at Turn 10 for many years, until now.

At long last, Fujimi Kaido is back in the latest Forza Motorsport, as the centerpiece of Update 20 released today. Incidentally, the update celebrated the 20th anniversary of the franchise, which was just 2 days ago on May 3.

The original Forza was released on the first Xbox on May 3, 2005, in North America. At that time, European releases were still often staggered, and fans in the Old Continent had to wait until May 13.

The new rendition of the Fujimi Kaido has been fully remade in terms of visuals, with the team traveling to Hakone in Japan to seek photographic and video resources.

A big new feature coming with Update 20 is Public Menus, which lets you join other players on a track without actually competing, to drive around, explore, and socialize.

The feature is available in the four options below.

  • Fujimi Kaido Drift Meetup – Go sideways on massive stretches of serpentine Japanese mountain roads in this 24/7 Meetup at Fujimi Kaido with Drift Scoring enabled.
  • Cycled Track Drift Meetup – All 73 track layouts are available in this Drift Meetup where you can vote for your favorite drift track.
  • Nürburgring Nordschleife Track Day Meetup – Tackle the ‘Green Hell’ in this 24/7 Meetup at the Nordschleife – the perfect track to test any car build and put it through its paces.
  • Cycled Track Day Meetup – All 73 track layouts are available in this Meetup where you’re encouraged to set your best lap time on any track, in any car.

The Racing Heroes Car Pack is available for $4.99/€4.99/£3.99, including the 2008 Mazda Furai, the 2024 Ford Mustang GT3, the 2001 Formula Drift #215 Nissan Silvia Spec-R, the 1997 Toyota Mark II Tourer V JZX100, and the 1984 De Tomaso Pantera GT5.

There’s plenty more in the update, and you can check out the full patch notes.

Forza Motorsport is currently available for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
