Epic Games is officially bringing Fortnite iOS back to Brazilian mobile devices this July.

The news game by way of a tweet from the official Fortnite X account, which announced that the title would return following a win in the competition regulator’s court against Apple. The Epic Games Store was originally removed from the App Store four years ago, as Apple cited that they had broken the terms of business.

Following the Digital Markets Act in the EU last year, it was announced that third-party app stores were allowed on iOS once again. This meant that Epic Games was able to strike a big win, bringing Fortnite iOS back for the first time since August 2020.

According to The Verge, the judge cited the victory in the EU in the recent Brazilian ruling, stating, “Apple has already complied with similar obligations in other countries without demonstrating significant impact or irreparable harm to its economic model.”

The ruling states that Apple has 90 days to allow sideloading in Brazil, though Apple plans to appeal it. Fortnite iOS will also be heading back to the UK and Japan relatively soon.

The Battle Royale version of the game was released as a free-to-play mobile title back on September 26, 2017. A few months later, the full version of the game came out, with Fortnite iOS releasing on March 12, 2018.

Fortnite is currently available as a free-to-play title on Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. For more information on this and other mobile titles, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for updates.
