Her status as a guest character was actually revealed a long time ago, alongside Ken. The collaboration is mutual, with Street Fighter 6 having received Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui.

Chun-Li will be released this winter as part of the first DLC character pass for the game, following Andy Bogard, Ken, and Joe Higashi. Mr. Big from Art of Fighting will follow in early 2026.

You can check out the English version of the trailer below, with Chun-Li voiced by Jennie Kwan. If you prefer her Japanese voice Fukiko Orikawa, you can find the relevant trailer on the official YouTube channel.

The press release also explains what Chun-Li is doing in South Town.

“Chun-Li, a battle-hardened Metro City agent, arrives in South Town, by request, to investigate the resurgence of an infamous criminal syndicate. Few wolves here can match the strength, style, and grace of this World Warrior—let alone best her outright. Perhaps the only one who can hold a candle to her is the fiery kunoichi of the Shiranui clan.”

Alongside Chun-Li, we’re also getting dedicated stories in arcade mode and Episodes of South Town, as follows.

  • Arcade Mode: Chun-Li graces South Town in response to rumors surrounding the infamous criminal syndicate Shadaloo.
  • Episodes of South Town: Chun-Li’s single-player RPG adventure centers around an invitation to share her kung fu knowledge and expertise with the people of South Town.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is currently available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

It’s the sequel to the old and glorious Fatal Fury series, known in Japan as Garou Densetsu (Legend of the Hungry Wolf).

The franchise, which spanned the Neo Geo era before going dormant, is not only known and loved by many fans for its gameplay but also for its intricate storytelling and interesting characters, albeit the new one may have overdone the “Interesting” a little bit. Yes. Sarcasm. I know.
