While perhaps not as prolific as the main event in Las Vegas, EVO France had its fair share of fighting game news for fans of the genre.

We start with Tekken 8, with Bandai Namco revealing the gameplay of the new character, Miary Zo.

We also get a rather relevant reveal about her background and her release date. I won’t spoil the backstory bit, as it’s pretty obvious in the trailer below.

She will grace Tekken 8 on December 4, 2025, also accompanied by her new stage, Baobab Horizon.

If you have the season pass, you can play her in early access from December 1.

Next, Cygames released the gameplay and release date of Meg, the new character coming to Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, Meg.

You can see her in action below, and play her very soon. She will release on October 15, 2025.

SNK also came with its own reveal, and it’s a shadow drop of Joe Higashi for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.

He’s already available, so if he’s into Fatal Fury, youn can have fun with him right now.

Perhaps the most unexpected piece of news came from Bandai Namco about Dragon Ball FighterZ.

Not only did it just get a rather massive balance update, which changes the gameplay quite radically, but Bandai Namco actually pulled a Dragon Ball Xenogears 2 and announced a new character, Goku SSJ4 from Daima.

Of course, the lead time is fairly long, as he’ll launch in spring 2026. That being said, it’s pretty appropriate that the announcement was made at EVO France, considering that Dragon Ball FighterZ is still fairly popular in the country.

Not all the news was about DLC for existing games, and we also got the announcement of Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, by Gameplay Group International.

It’s coming for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam in Summer 2026.

Below, you can read some of the claimed features as listed on Steam.

  • 12 Playable Characters at launch, with many more released via Season Model
  • Selectable support characters influence your fighting style and grant special moves
  • Unique “Flow System” w/Movement Centric Gameplay
  • Single Player Campaign w/Original Narrative
  • Combo Trials
  • Gallery Mode
  • Best in Class Net Code and Cross Play
