Today, Pixelity Inc. officially revealed the title of its Neon Genesis Evangelion video game project, Evangelion: Δ Cross Reflections, as well as the official logo.
Originally announced back in February 2025, this will be the first-ever adaptation of the hit sci-fi anime and manga into the world of XR (Extended Reality), which mixes multiple elements of the virtual and real worlds, combining augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR) to create a unique experience. It is planned to be a trilogy, placing players in the shoes of an original character and allowing them to explore the world and events of all 26 episodes.
This specific installment centers on events from Episodes 1 to 11 of the anime, weaving episodes from the existing storyline with completely new, game-original narrative content. The story unfolds from the perspective of the protagonist (the player), who dreams of becoming a pilot. Connections between the original anime’s key episodes and the game’s original characters are also among its major highlights.
For those who have never seen the source material, Neon Genesis Evangelion story takes place in the year 2015, where mysterious beings known as ‘Angels’, each possessing unique threats, have begun the invasion of Tokyo-3. The only hope of stopping these threats is put in the hands of a group of teens, including protagonist Shinji Ikari.
Together, he and his comrades must pilot the Evangelion, a human-shaped ultimate weapon, and face the Angels in a battle that will determine the fate of mankind. Not all is as it seems on the surface, as the reason behind the Angels and why they are here uncovers a shocking truth.
A special demo version of Evangelion: Δ Cross Reflections is also set to be revealed for sometime in the first half of 2026, allowing players to experience actual in-game content. For more information on this and other AR, VR, and MR content, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for updates.
