Today, SCS Software has an exciting tease to share about the future of its older sim Euro Truck Simulator 2.
The content of the tease is pretty explicit, and it’s going to be the addition of drivable buses. What we see in the tease, including the thumbnail of the video, indicates the addition of tour buses.
At the moment, it’s unknown whether we’ll also get city buses, but I would guess tour buses are much closer to the simulator’s “A to B” driving nature. City buses would require the implementation of lines and more.
This is interesting, especially since SCS software is planning to implement cars in American Truck Simulator. The addition of buses to Euro Truck Simulator 2 would further diversify the experience of the two sims, which have been pretty much developed in parallel until now, with very similar feature sets.
You can watch the teaser below.
If you’re unfamiliar with Euro Truck Simulator 2, it’s a truck-driving simulator available exclusively for PC. Recently, version 1.54 has been released.
That being said, some features of update 1.55 have been tested recently, on top of a new Asynchronous Loading feature that should reduce stutters and improve smoothness. It’s worth mentioning that it wasn’t the official beta of version 1.55, which is likely to come at a later date.
A refresh of the Scandinavia DLC is in the works alongside the Nordic Horizons DLC, of which you can check out the landscapes, landmarks, the city of Oulu, the churches, the lakes of Finland, more roadside landmarks, and the town of Andenes.
Speaking of reworks, the BeNeLux region is also getting one, and we recently saw the port of Rotterdam.
