The 2025 Esports World Cup has announced that both Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Rocket League are coming to the worldwide competition, with Mobile Legends: Bang Bang getting two different tournaments.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has been included in the Esports World Cup in the past, and it’s split into two separate tournaments in 2025, just like previously: men and women. This is the same format that occurred in 2024, and it’s not unusual for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. In fact, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) has several women-specific tournaments and segments of its esports team outside of the Esports World Cup.
Rocket League is also another returning title. So far, every game announced has been a returning title. This includes Overwatch 2, EA Sports FC 25, PUBG, Apex Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Rainbow Six Siege, DOTA 2, and Street Fighter 6.
Technically, it’s the first year that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be included. However, this is only because Black Ops 6 just came out – last year, Modern Warfare 3 was there instead.
There are still nine more games to be announced, though it’ll be a bit before players know. The last announcements will be strung out in the next month and a half, starting in January.
While there will definitely be a new game or two, there are some games from 2024 that haven’t been announced yet. Fortnite, StarCraft 2, and Teamfight Tactics still have time to get on the roster.
