Today, Frontier Developments officially launched the next step for its online space flight simulator with the release of the Elite Dangerous: Dodec update.
The Eliete Dangerous: Dodec update introduces the re-envisioned Dodec station via ARX early access and several fixes and updates, marking the end of the System Colonisation Beta. All of these changes come courtesy of extensive fan feedback after the game’s recent Beta.
First off, the Dodec Station now boasts three different variants that are available for construction: No Truss, Quint Truss, and Dec Truss. In order to purchase it, you’ll need to spend 50,000 ARX, which will grant you an instant build credit that can be used to complete its construction effort once.
The Elite Dangerous: Dodec update unlocks construction rights for additional Dodec construction efforts, though System Economy Point Costs are still required. Once constructed, the Dodec will provide the Human Tech Broker service.
Powerplay Care Packages got a significant change, introducing fixes to the claim interface, removing Odyssey-specific materials, and converting excessive materials to credits, featuring the following conversion rate:
- Grade 1 = 2000 Credits per Material
- Grade 2 = 4000 Credits per Material
- Grade 3 = 8000 Credits per Material
- Grade 4 = 16000 Credits per Material
- Grade 5 = 32000 Credits per Material
This conversion will even apply to players not running Elite: Dangerous Odyssey, so the value in credits for any Odyssey-specific materials according to this table will be added to their account. Care packages will also now expire after 30 days, automatically opening them and converting any excess materials into Credits.

Since its release in 2014, Elite Dangerous has found considerable success in the MMO landscape. In the decade since its launch, the game has seen two large expansions, both of which continue the ongoing narrative centered around political intrigue, corporate espionage, and a galaxy-wide war against the extraterrestrial threat of the Thargoids.
The game is currently available for $19.99 on Steam. For more information on Elite Dangerous: Dodec, Vanguards, and other great content that has been added to the game, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for updates.
